Niger Tornadoes’ incredible form in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL got another boost with a 1-1 stalemate against hosts, Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina, Saturday afternoon.
Majin Mohammed’s side lost 0-1 to Rivers United last match-day and sought an immediate response against Katsina United.
The visitors started brightly and grabbed the opener through Papa Daniel’s strike in the 41st minute to take a slim lead into the break.After the restart, Katsina United stepped up their game and drew level, thanks to Bello Lukman’s strike in the 54th minute.
Both defences then stood firm to ensure a stalemate after 90 minutes.
For the “Ikon Allah Boys”, the result means they have picked up eight points from a possible 15 on the road, including 2-1 wins over Kwara United and Plateau United respectively, and despite their amazing away form, they are yet to win at home.
While Tornadoes return home for a date with Shooting Stars on match-day 10, Katsina United travel to face El-kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
