Ossy Martins was the star of the show as Lobi Stars edged Bayelsa United 2-1 at the Lafia City Stadium, Monday evening.
The ex Remo Stars forward grabbed the opener with a header in the 22nd minute before Bayelsa United levelled through Yahaya Ibrahim ‘s penalty in the 30th minute.
Martins stroke again in the 57th minute to guide Daniel Amokachi to his first win as head coach of the Pride of Benue.
Super Eagles legend, Amokachi started his reign with back-to-back draws: 1-1 with Niger Tornadoes in Minna, before being held to a 2-2 draw by El-kanemi Warriors in Lafia, followed by a 4-2 loss to Ikorodu City in Lagos.
The 2-1 win over Bayelsa United has brought relief for Lobi Stars, who now move up to 17th on the log with nine points, and will next face Remo Stars in Ikenne, Ogun State on Sunday.
