Former Turkish Super Lig champions Trabzonspor are reportedly gearing up for a fresh attempt to secure Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu from Southampton. The club is preparing a $10 million bid, supplemented by performance-based bonuses.
Onuachu joined Southampton from Genk in 2023 with high expectations following his prolific spell in Belgium.
However, the towering forward has struggled to find his footing at St. Mary’s, featuring primarily as a substitute this season under coach Russell Martin, who reportedly favors a different player profile.
To reignite his form, the Nigerian international was loaned to Trabzonspor earlier this year, where he flourished. Onuachu netted an impressive 17 goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances, solidifying his reputation as a reliable goalscorer.
Despite the success, a permanent transfer to Trabzonspor fell through, with Southampton demanding $15 million—higher than the Turkish side’s offer at the time.
As Onuachu remains sidelined at Southampton with just six substitute appearances this season, Trabzonspor appears ready to renew their pursuit.
