‘He wants to stay’ – Galatasaray provides Buruk update on Osimhen’s future amid links to Chelsea in January

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has decided to remain at Turkish champions Galatasaray for the rest of the season, despite having a release clause that could allow him to leave in January, according to the club’s head coach Okan Buruk.

Speaking to the press, Buruk confirmed that Osimhen has expressed his commitment to staying at Galatasaray. “Osimhen intends to stay here until the end of the season,” Buruk stated.

“He wants to stay and has been telling me that from the start. There is a clause, but it does not matter, because he said that he will remain.”

Buruk emphasized that the final decision lies with the player, and Osimhen has made his position clear. “The player is the one who ultimately decides and Osimhen says he is staying here. He said the same from the moment he arrived,” the coach added.

Osimhen’s decision comes amid growing interest from several top European clubs, including Chelsea who have been monitoring the Super Eagles forward since his summer move to Galatasaray.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed a strong start to his time in Turkey, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just nine appearances for ‘Gala’ so far this season.

His impressive form has only heightened speculation about his future, but it now seems that Osimhen is determined to see out his season with Galatasaray, giving the club a boost ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
