‘They’re Asking for Money’ – Italian Journalist Luca Marchetti Rules Out Osimhen-Zirkzee Swap Deal

Renowned Italian journalist Luca Marchetti has dismissed the possibility of a swap deal involving Victor Osimhen and Joshua Zirkzee, as Manchester United reportedly consider a move for the Nigerian forward in January.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in sensational form this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in nine matches across all competitions.

His performances have drawn interest from top European clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Reports suggested that Manchester United were considering a deal that would see Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee plus cash offered to Napoli in exchange for Osimhen. However, Marchetti has made it clear that Napoli are not entertaining any swap proposals.

Speaking to Radio Marte via AreaNapoli, Marchetti said; “Osimhen-Zirkzee swap ? Napoli wants to capitalise on the Nigerian’s sale to the fullest: they’re asking for money.”

Napoli’s stance aligns with their long-term strategy of extracting maximum value from their prized assets.

Following Osimhen’s temporary move to Galatasaray, his release clause has reportedly been reduced to €75 million, down from the €130 million exit clause set during the summer.

Manchester United, who are actively seeking attacking reinforcements to bolster their struggling frontline, now face a significant hurdle if they hope to secure Osimhen’s services in January.

With Napoli holding firm, the Red Devils may need to meet the full release clause to win the race for the prolific Nigerian.
