Spanish football powerhouse Barcelona is reportedly exploring a swap deal to bring Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel to Camp Nou, with young sensation Ansu Fati moving to Turkish champions Fenerbahçe.
According to El Gol Digital, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco is keen on Osayi-Samuel, valuing his versatility as he can play as a right-back, left-back, and left-sided midfielder.
The Nigerian international has become a key player under Fenerbahçe manager José Mourinho. Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, has placed Ansu Fati on their transfer wishlist, and the proposed swap deal would see the two players switching clubs.
If the swap fails to materialize, Barcelona is reportedly prepared to wait until June 2025, when Osayi-Samuel’s contract with Fenerbahçe expires, allowing them to sign him as a free agent.
Osayi-Samuel, 26, is currently valued at €8 million by Transfermarkt. This season, he has featured in 13 matches across all competitions for Fenerbahçe, providing one assist. His contributions have solidified his place as a crucial part of Mourinho’s squad.
With negotiations underway, football fans are eagerly watching how the potential swap could impact the careers of both players and the dynamics of their respective teams.
