FC Cincinnati continues association with Nwobodo

FC Cincinnati, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team, has confirmed that former Flying Eagles midfielder Obinna Nwobodo has received an extended contract for the 2025 season..

The ex-Rangers midfielder is recognized as the highest-paid Nigerian footballer in the MLS, earning an annual salary of $1.31 million.

Nwobodo participated in nearly all of the team’s MLS matches in 2024, totaling 33 appearances and logging 2,736 minutes of playtime. He was included in the starting lineup for 32 of these matches out of 37 and came off the bench once.

The midfielder transferred to Cincinnati in April 2022 from Göztepe, where he had made 60 league appearances and contributed three assists.
