Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) presented cash gifts to the members of the gold medal-winning Women’s football team on Tuesday at its Surulere secretariat. This recognition was for their outstanding performance at the recent National Youth Games held in Asaba, Delta State.
The young female athletes, along with their team officials, expressed their joy as they received the cash gifts from Akeem Okikiopusu, the Secretary of the Lagos FA, who represented Chairman Hajji Gafar Liameed.
The FA extended its gratitude to the financial contributors, which included Mr. Sanmi Doherty, Chief Executive Officer of NPFL club Ikorodu City; Hon. Damilare Orimoloye, Senior Special Assistant on Sports to the Lagos State Governor; Alhaji Waheed Salaudeen, President of Buruj Football Academy; and Mr. Victor Akinmoyo, for their generous support.
“We’re very grateful to the cash donors for their thoughtful support and encouragement. We believe such kind gestures would go a long way to further encourage and boost the morales of these talented and impressionable young female footballers,” Okikiopusu remarked.
