“Always a Pleasure” – Umar Sadiq Fuels Speculation About Real Sociedad Exit Ahead of January Transfer Window

Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq has added more weight to speculation about his future at Real Sociedad after hinting at a potential January transfer.

Sadiq has found playing time hard to come by this season, managing just 224 minutes across seven La Liga appearances, only two of which he started. The Nigerian international has struggled to make an impact, with no goals and a single assist to his name.

Since joining La Real from Almeria for €20 million in 2022, Sadiq has scored just four La Liga goals. With his current form underwhelming, Real Sociedad could reportedly be open to letting him leave in the winter transfer window.

When asked by Tribal Football about rumors linking him to Getafe, Sadiq’s response was coy but telling: “I don’t know. Let’s see what will happen in the future.”

Sadiq also spoke warmly about a potential return to Almeria, a club where he made a name for himself by netting 38 goals in two seasons, helping them secure promotion to La Liga.

“With Almeria, it’s always a pleasure,” Sadiq said.” We never know what the future comes with.”

Sadiq’s record in Spain’s Segunda Division remains notable—he is Nigeria’s second-highest scorer in the competition’s history, with 38 goals, trailing only Ikechukwu Uche, who scored 79.

Having played for clubs across Europe, including AS Roma, Torino, Bologna, Glasgow Rangers, and Partizan, Sadiq’s potential next move could offer him a fresh start to rekindle the form that made him a standout striker at Almeria.

As January approaches, all eyes will be on whether Sadiq secures a move to revitalize his career or stays at Real Sociedad to fight for his place in the team.
