Enyimba’s U-19 team, known as the Baby Elephants, executed a remarkable comeback to secure a 3-2 victory over Atlantic Business in an exhilarating match held at the Ijebu Ode stadium.
The visitors initially took the lead in the 17th minute with a striking goal from Samuel Okechukwu.
However, the hosts responded in the 25th minute when Chinedu Umeh found the net with a close-range effort. Umeh then added another goal just before halftime, giving Atlantic Business a 2-1 advantage at the break.
Determined to turn the tide, Enyimba’s U-19 squad rallied in the second half. Samuel Okechukwu equalized with a well-executed penalty kick in the 75th minute.
Ugonna Nnadi then clinched the victory with a spectacular goal in the 85th minute, sprinting from his own half to score.
This hard-earned 3-2 win marks the sixth victory of the season for Enyimba’s U-19 team, who now hold a record of 6 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. Under the guidance of Coach King Joe Akuma, the team has shown impressive resilience and determination, making this comeback a testament to their developing strength and character.
