Princewill Ehibhatiomhan: Flying-Eagles eligible forward who shares similarities with Didier Drogba

Nigerian sensation, Princewill Ehibhatiomhan was in action in Southampton’s 6-0 thrashing to Sporting Lisbon in the Premier League International Cup on Thursday evening.

Ehibhatiomhan was a second-half substitute, replacing Brandon Charles on the hour mark. Despite his impressive display this season, he failed to make any meaningful effort to avoid the humiliating defeat.

The 19-year-old striker has been a standout performer for Southampton in the Premier League 2. The young forward has scored five goals in ten league appearances.

His performance and goals have kept the Saints away from the drop zone. Southampton are currently fourteenth with thirteen points from ten league games.

Known for his presence inside the box, Ehibhatiomhan has tormented defenders in the Premier League 2, making it difficult to deal with him in different situations.

Additionally, he is an exceptional goal scorer, with the ability to play as a lone and supporting striker in various styles and formations, an ability that reminisces of Didier Drogba’s style at Chelsea.

Despite making three appearances for the England U17 team, Ehibhatiomhan is still eligible to represent the Flying Eagles ahead of the CAF U20 AFCON tournament in South Africa.

His presence is expected to provide an additional option for coach Aliyu Zubairu ahead of the CAF U20 tournament to secure a spot in the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Flying Eagles qualified for the tournament after winning the WAFU Zone B tournament in Togo. Despite the defeat to Burkina Faso in the opener, Nigeria defeated Ghana in the final to secure qualification to the CAF U20 AFCON tournament in South Africa.
