The Super Eagles B have announced the recall of five players in preparation for their pivotal Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) playoff return leg against Ghana.
Included in the squad are strikers Samuel Ayanrinde from Shooting Stars and Sunday Megwo of Abia Warriors. Both players are known for their dynamic playing style and physicality, which are expected to pose challenges for the Ghanaian central defense.
Additionally, midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye from Enugu Rangers, Vincent Temitope of Plateau United, and Badmus Nurudeen from Kwara United have also been brought back into the fold.
These players had previously participated in the Ikenne training camp but were not selected for the initial trip to Ghana.
The team is currently in Uyo and will conduct their first training session this evening.
They are set to face the Black Galaxies of Ghana on Saturday, following a goalless draw in Accra over the weekend.
The team that emerges victorious from this matchup will secure a place in the postponed 2024 CHAN tournament, scheduled to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in February 2025.
