Nottingham Forest wing-back Ola Aina has named Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka as the best player in the Premier League, praising the 22-year-old for his consistency and quality on the pitch.
Aina, who has been a regular starter for the high-flying Forest this season, made the comments during a guest appearance on the football podcast Filthy Fellas. When asked about the standout player in the Premier League, Aina didn’t hesitate to pick Saka.
“He just does it every game, every game. Yeah, Saka,” Aina said, highlighting the Arsenal star’s ability to perform consistently at a high level.
While the panel pressed Aina to choose Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who has been in outstanding form this season with 15 goals and 11 assists, the Super Eagles defender remained firm in his admiration for Saka. However, Aina did acknowledge Salah’s brilliance, saying, “Mo Salah is up there.”
This season, the Premier League has seen exciting performances from various players. Liverpool currently sit at the top of the table, benefiting from a slump in form from defending champions Manchester City. However, despite impressive contributions from players like Salah, Aina’s pick of Saka speaks volumes about the Arsenal forward’s consistent impact on the game.
Nottingham Forest, where Aina has been a solid performer, are enjoying a decent campaign, with contributions from players like Chris Wood and Anthony Elanga. But for Aina, Saka’s form and consistency set him apart as the Premier League’s best this season.
