Midfielder Hafiz Ibrahim has conveyed a strong sense of confidence as Ghana prepares for the second leg of their African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Nigeria in Abuja on December 28.
The first leg concluded in a goalless stalemate in Accra last Sunday, with the victor earning a place in the tournament set to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Ibrahim, reflecting on the upcoming encounter, asserted that the Ghanaian squad, composed of locally-based players, is undaunted by their Nigerian counterparts.
“When we step onto the field and give our all, we believe that victory will be within our reach. We have no fear of any opponent. Insha Allah, we will qualify for Ghana,” Ibrahim stated.
Additionally, Black Galaxies head coach Mas-ud Dramani has expressed confidence that his team will find the back of the net in Nigeria.
Ghana is aiming for consecutive qualifications after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2022 edition. The team has reached two CHAN finals but is still in pursuit of their first title.
