Rabiu Ali, the seasoned midfielder for Nigeria, has voiced his belief in the team’s potential to triumph over Ghana in the second leg of their Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier.
This crucial match is scheduled for Saturday, December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, and will be decisive in determining which team advances to the 2024 CHAN tournament.
As a player for Kano Pillars and the oldest member of the Super Eagles B squad, Ali brings significant experience to the competition.
Reflecting on his past experiences in CHAN, he remarked, “If we qualify, this will mark my third appearance in the tournament finals. I am hopeful for a victory against Ghana on Saturday.”
The veteran midfielder is optimistic about Nigeria’s prospects, emphasizing the caliber of players within the squad.
“Our primary goal is to secure the ticket. Given the talent in this team, as demonstrated in our training sessions, I am confident we can overcome Ghana and achieve qualification,” Ali stated in an interview with Complete Sports.
The Super Eagles B team is set to face a formidable opponent in Ghana’s Black Galaxies, particularly after the first leg concluded in a scoreless draw in Accra last Sunday.
The highly anticipated clash between these two West African rivals is set to commence at 16:00 GMT.
