Ademola Lookman, the forward for the Super Eagles, has been recognized in Whoscored.com’s Serie A Team of The Year due to his outstanding performances for Atalanta BC and the Nigerian national team.
Lookman stands out as the sole representative from Atalanta in the selection for Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
The year 2024 proved to be significant for the former Everton player, as he contributed to the Super Eagles’ achievement of a silver medal at the AFCON in Ivory Coast, netting three goals and providing one assist during the tournament.
His scoring ability extended beyond the AFCON, highlighted by a remarkable hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa Cup Final, where he faced off against fellow Nigerian Victor Boniface.
Lookman was also the only African player nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, securing the 14th position in the rankings.
To conclude a remarkable season, he was honored as the ‘African Footballer of The Year, 2024,’ a prestigious accolade in African football.
According to Transmarkt, his market value is estimated at €55 million, and he has already scored 11 goals this season for Atalanta.
