Ex-Lazio Midfielder, Liverani Highlights Fisayo Dele-Bashiru as Potential Key Player in Rome Derby

Former Lazio midfielder Fabio Liverani has singled out Fisayo Dele-Bashiru as a potential key figure for Lazio in the upcoming Rome Derby against Roma this weekend.

Dele-Bashiru, who joined Lazio from Hatayaspor in the summer, has impressed in his debut Serie A season, scoring two goals to quickly establish himself in Italian football.

With injuries affecting key players in Lazio’s midfield, the 22-year-old is expected to play a prominent role in the crucial clash.

Liverani believes that Dele-Bashiru could have a significant impact, especially in his defensive duties. He highlighted the Nigerian midfielder’s potential to neutralize Roma’s dangerous playmakers, particularly Leandro Paredes.

“Ranieri will risk little, he will hardly play from the goal and will not concede many opportunities for high recovery. He will play on second balls. In this regard, watch out for Paredes and Dybala, who can become dangerous together with Salemakers,” Liverani told radiosei.it.

“Dele-Bashiru could be a key, because he goes to get Paredes and can play between the lines.”

Liverani also suggested that Roma’s Svilar and Dybala could be players worth watching for Lazio, although he noted that Lazio’s coach, Baroni, faces the challenge of managing a limited bench due to injuries.

“Players I would take from Roma? Svilar and Dybala. For Baroni, the bad luck of having a very limited bench due to injuries.”
