The CHAN Eagles will return to the Remo Sports Complex in Ikenne on Monday to commence preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda next month.
It was gathered that team officials confirmed that the squad will undergo an intensive three-week training camp at the Ikenne facility before departing for the delayed tournament, which kicks off on February 1, 2025.
This will not be the first time the CHAN Eagles are training at the Remo Sports Complex. The team previously used the same venue to prepare for their decisive playoff clash against Ghana.
A core group of the 30 players who participated in that previous camp are expected to be recalled for this phase of preparations, as the team aims for a strong performance in the upcoming continental competition.
The Remo Sports Complex has also served as a training ground for other Nigerian national teams, including the Flying Eagles and the Flamingos, underscoring its growing reputation as a top-tier facility for high-level preparations.
The CHAN tournament, designed exclusively for players competing in their domestic leagues, will see Nigeria aiming to make a strong impact under the guidance of the coaching staff as they finalize their squad for the prestigious event.
