Crystal Palace have reportedly commenced discussions to sign Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel on a long-term contract as the defender approaches the end of his deal with Fenerbahce.
The fullback, whose current contract with the Turkish giants expires in the summer, is free to negotiate with any club and is now a key target for the Premier League club.
Osayi-Samuel has been on Crystal Palace’s radar for some time as they seek to strengthen their squad.
Despite his contract situation, the 27-year-old is also reportedly in talks with Fenerbahce regarding a contract renewal. However, negotiations have stalled due to financial constraints, leaving his future uncertain.
Turkish media outlet Takvim reported that Crystal Palace is keen to secure Osayi-Samuel’s services on a free transfer and are currently in talks to seal the deal.
The Nigerian fullback was also seen at Selhurst Park during Palace’s recent match against Arsenal, sparking further speculation about a potential move to the Premier League.
Although Fenerbahce remained eager to retain the player, Osayi-Samuel is said to be open to a return to London, where he previously played for Queens Park Rangers.
The prospect of reuniting with his partner in the UK could be a major factor in his decision, as he weighs his options for the summer.
As the transfer window approaches, Crystal Palace are pushing to finalize the move and bring the Super Eagles defender back to the Premier League, bolstering their defensive options for the next season.
