Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has refuted claims that he attempted to persuade fellow Nigerian Bright Osayi-Samuel to leave Fenerbahce for Galatasaray.
Osayi-Samuel’s future has been a major talking point in Turkish football recently, with the defender yet to sign a contract extension at Fenerbahce despite his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
Rumours had suggested that Osimhen, a close friend of Osayi-Samuel, was involved in convincing him to make the switch to Galatasaray.
However, following Galatasaray’s 2-1 victory over Goztepe on Saturday, Osimhen addressed the speculation directly.
“I didn’t have a conversation with him (Osayi-Samuel) about such. He’s my friend, but no,” Osimhen clarified when questioned about the rumors.
With Osayi-Samuel now in the final six months of his contract, he is free to negotiate with potential suitors.
Premier League side Crystal Palace has already been linked with the 27-year-old defender as a possible destination in the summer transfer window.
The coming months are expected to clarify Osayi-Samuel’s next move, with multiple clubs reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
