Turkish club Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu from Southampton during the winter transfer window.
According to Turkish media outlets, the Istanbul giants have renewed their interest in the 30-year-old striker after initially linking up with him last summer.
Onuachu, who spent a successful loan spell with Trabzonspor last season, has once again emerged as a target for Besiktas, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options.
Sabah reports that transfer talks for Onuachu are already in “full swing,” with Besiktas’ new president Serdal Adalı leading negotiations alongside other club officials.
There are ongoing concerns over the future of star striker Ciro Immobile, and the club has been exploring several center-forward options in recent weeks. While it is unclear whether Besiktas are aiming to loan or permanently sign Onuachu, discussions are reportedly progressing.
Onuachu has made 12 appearances for Southampton this season, but has rarely featured in the starting lineup. The Nigerian international is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026, leaving the door open for a potential move this month.
