Fabrizio Romano Hints at Chido Obi-Martins’ First-Team Debut for Manchester United

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Nigerian teenage sensation Chido Obi-Martins could make his first-team debut for Manchester United before the end of the current season.

Obi-Martins, 17, joined United in the summer after a prolific campaign with Arsenal, where he netted an astonishing 32 goals and registered three assists in just 18 matches. Since his arrival, he has continued his impressive form, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in ten appearances across all competitions for United’s youth teams.

With his standout performances, Romano believes new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim might fast-track the youngster into the senior squad.

Writing in his GiveMeSport column, Romano said:

“Man United always saw Chido as part of a future first squad plan, so I’d not be surprised if he gets the chance from now to the end of the season to join the first team. But nothing is confirmed at this stage.”

The teenager is being considered as a potential first-team option following the exits of Marcus Rashford and Anthony. Additionally, with Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling for goals, Obi-Martins could be handed an opportunity to prove himself at the highest level.

As United look for solutions in attack, all eyes will be on the young forward’s development in the coming weeks.
