Czech Republic side Vlasim have announced the signing of talented Nigerian wing back Samuel Kelechi.
The youngster has signed a three-year-deal with an option for an extension, and will commence his career with the club’s main team.
Kelechi Samuel was signed as the direct replacement for Oluwajunwolo Peter who recently moved to Bohemians 1905.
Samuel joined Lion as a kid. He featured for the club at several scouting tournaments including Supremacy Cup and Jagaban Cup in the past.
Dan Smejkal and Cem Sagar ensured that the deal was completed before the last transfer window ended.
Reflecting on Samuel’s move, 36 Lion Owner, Hajji Gafar Liameed wrote on social media: “From Udi local Government in Enugu to Lagos and now to the Czech Republic. The sole survivor among 12 young boys who were scouted from the Zenith Future Eagles representing the South East.”
“A developmental agreement was established between River Lane Youth Club, led by Coach Jude Agada and 36 Lion Football Club, under the guidance of Coach Akinshola Akinrele, also known as Baba Arigo. The necessary transfers were completed, and their football trainings began during the challenging times of Covid-19.”
“Throughout Lion Samuel’s development, he was played in five different positions, ultimately revealing that he excels as a right wing back, showcasing strength and intelligence reminiscent of Honorable Patrick Ekeji, the former Director General of the Nigeria Sports Commission.”
“He (Samuel) is the only one who persevered through the demanding training at 36 Lion, and now the rewards are starting to unfold for him. Congratulations, son. We wish you all the best.”
Vlasim are currently second on the Czech Republic Tipsport Lig ladder with six points from three games.
