Super Eagles midfielder Nathan Tella has expressed frustrations to the chances he missed during Leverkusen’s goalless draw against Bayern Munich at the BayArena.
Tella started the match upfront alongside Florian Writz with the duo of Victor Boniface and Patrick Schick deployed on the bench.
The Nigerian midfielder gave a good account of himself with his performance by asserting pressure on Bayern’s defense and provide options for Leverkusen to control the game.
Despite the impressive performance, Tella missed several key chances that could have provided the host with the victory and maximum point.
Speaking on his performance, Tella expressed disappointment with the opportunities missed but optimistic about subsquent games.
“It was a very good game, but it feels like we lost 0-0,” the 25-year-old told rp-online.de la. “I missed a few chances, and I’m very disappointed about that. But as a team, we can be proud of how we played. We have to use that as motivation for the upcoming games.”
Nathan Tella has been an important player for Xabi Alonso this campaign, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 30 matches across all competitions.
With the performances, Tella aim to earn an invitation to the Super Eagles camp ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
