Flying Eagles eligible midfielder Jamaldeen Jimoh Aloba was on the bench as Aston Villa played a 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The 18-year-old midfielder spent the entire duration of the match on the bench despite Una Emery making five substitutions during the contest.
Youri Tielemans equalized for Aston Villa after Mohamed Salah had gave the Reds the lead in the 29th minute.
However, Ollie Watkins put Aston Villa before the end of the first half, while Trent Alexander Arnold equalized for the visitors in the second half.
Aloba has been impressive for Villa in the youth system. He has scored eight goals and provided four assists across all competitions.
His impressive performance and output from the central impressed Unai Emery who listed him on the bench against Liverpool.
The opportunity provided the youngster a chance to make his Premier League debut despite representing them at various youth tournaments including the FA Youth Cup, Premier League 2, and the UEFA Youth League.
Aloba, known for his calmness and composure, is eligible to represent Nigeria ahead of the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
His addition would greatly improve the team and improve Nigeria’s chances of winning the tournament and obtaining the FIFA U20 World Cup ticket.
Nigeria had been placed in a difficult group against Morocco, Egypt, and South Africa. The competition, featuring 13 teams, is set to take place from April 26 to May 18.
