AC Milan consider Edon Zhegrova as replacement for struggling Chukwueze

AC Milan are closely monitoring Edon Zhegrova as a potential replacement for Samuel Chukwueze, who could leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chukwueze, who joined the Rossoneri from Villarreal in the summer of 2023, has struggled to adapt to Italian football, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 61 appearances across all competitions.

His inconsistent performances have fueled speculation about his future at the club.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international has been linked with Aston Villa and Fulham, among other European clubs. He was reportedly close to an exit during the January transfer window but opted to stay in hopes of impressing manager Sérgio Conceição.

However, the recent signing of João Félix has further reduced his playing time, making his departure more likely. According to Calciomercato.com, AC Milan are open to selling Chukwueze and have identified Zhegrova, a Kosovo international, as a key target.

The Lille winger has been on Milan’s radar for some time, and the club could leverage its strong relationship with French football to secure a deal.

AC Milan are expected to make several key decisions in the coming months, including managerial changes and squad adjustments. The potential departures of Chukwueze, Rafael Leão, Riccardo Sottil, and João Félix could push Zhegrova to the top of their transfer priorities.

With the summer window approaching, Milan’s strategy will revolve around finding the right balance between squad restructuring and maintaining competitiveness in domestic and European competitions.
