Former Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama has named Ademola Lookman as the most in-form Nigerian player across Europe, ahead of Victor Boniface and Victor Osimhen.
Wanyama, who enjoyed a successful career in the Premier League, believes Lookman’s consistency and performances for both club and country have set him apart from his national teammates.
Lookman has been a standout performer for Atalanta this season, scoring 17 goals and providing seven assists in 30 matches across all competitions.
His contributions were instrumental in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph, and he has also been a key figure for the Super Eagles in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and tournament.
In a video that went viral on X, Wanyama expressed his admiration for Lookman’s impressive form.
“At the moment, I have to choose between Victor Boniface and Oshimen is doing well also, but I will say Ademola Lookman. He has been doing well. He won the Europa League for Atlanta, and also in the Africa Cup of Nations. He was doing well in the qualifier and he has been doing well, so he is on fire right now.”
With Lookman maintaining his top form, he continues to be a crucial player for Atalanta and the Nigerian national team, further cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting African players in European football.
