Former Chelsea manager José Mourinho has reportedly given his approval for Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel to leave Fenerbahçe at the end of his contract this summer.
Osayi-Samuel, whose deal with the Turkish giants is set to expire in a few months, has yet to reach an agreement on an extension despite ongoing negotiations.
The club reportedly offered him a renewal worth around €2.5 million per year, but the 26-year-old turned it down, demanding improved terms.
With no agreement in sight, Osayi-Samuel has been linked with a move to several top European clubs, including a potential return to the English Premier League, where Crystal Palace is rumored to be among his suitors.
According to reports, Mourinho, who is widely expected to take charge of Fenerbahçe in the summer, has given the green light for the Nigerian international to leave as a free agent.
The defender has struggled for consistent game time in recent seasons, further fueling speculation about his departure.
Osayi-Samuel has not featured in Fenerbahçe’s last two league matches and has managed just one assist in 29 appearances across all competitions this season. With Mourinho’s reported decision, his exit from the club seems increasingly likely.
