The organizers of the eagerly awaited annual Jagaban Cup have announced that European football scouts will be present to identify exceptional talents during the tournament.
This four-day football celebration is set to take place at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, from March 24 to March 27, 2025, promising an exhilarating display of grassroots football.
Tournament Director Mr. Wale Joseph shared with the media, “We will commence on March 24 with four matches at the Legacy Pitch.”
“On the second day, we will also host four matches at the same location, followed by another four games on the third day. Importantly, the tournament will feature a no offside rule.”
The experienced sports journalist and football administrator further explained, “Matches on the 24th, 25th, and 26th will occur from 7 AM to 12 PM. There will be no semi-finals; instead, the winners of each group will advance directly to the final.”
He emphasized the organizers’ goal of discovering new and younger talents for future opportunities, including potential international contracts, which aligns with their commitment to grassroots football development.
This year’s tournament will see participation from teams such as Ikorodu City, Dino SC, Ijebu United, 36 Lion, SGFC, Imperial FC, Broad City, and FC Bethel.
