Oriental Derby: Agor declares war on Warriors

Heartland winger Chukwuma Agor is eagerly anticipating the Oriental derby this Sunday against Abia Warriors in Owerri.

With aspirations to mirror their successful outing earlier this season in the Nigeria Premier Football League, where the Naze Millionaires triumphed 2-0 with contributions from Agor and Michael Ogu, he is optimistic about securing another favorable outcome.

“Absolutely! That’s our goal,” he expressed. “I’m determined to contribute, and the entire team shares the desire to finish the season on a high note.

“Heartland tends to excel in derby matches, and I’ve participated in several myself. We’re entering this weekend’s clash brimming with confidence, and I believe we can achieve a similar victory as we did in Umuahia. Why not?

“The derby holds significant meaning for our fans, and I share that sentiment. We’re all incredibly motivated. Each player is giving their utmost, and the coaching staff is equally committed to ensuring we finish as strongly as possible.”

Reflecting on his personal performance, with three goals and one assist in 18 matches, Agor takes pride in his accomplishments.

“I believe I’ve reached some impressive milestones,” he remarked.

The unwavering support from Heartland’s fans, both at Dan Anyiam Stadium and on the road, has been invaluable, and Agor feels that the bond with the supporters can propel the Naze Millionaires toward a memorable conclusion to the season.

“It’s been remarkable,” he noted. “This season, the connection has deepened. The interaction between players and fans is palpable, and it’s truly motivating us.

“Kudos to all the players. Everyone is playing their part, including the staff, for all we’ve achieved. We’ve invested significant effort during this period, and it’s starting to yield results. As we approach the critical phase of the season, we must all be prepared to contribute and support one another.”
