Leicester City defender Caleb Okoli has discussed about facing Erling Haaland and named the Premier League team that has impressed him the most this season.
Okoli joined Leicester City in the summer from Atalanta and has impressed in the Premier League. He has made 12 appearances across two competitions, the Carabao Cup and the UEFA Conference League.
In an interview with cronachedispogliatoio, Okoli narrates his experience in the Premier League. He highlighted the difficulty of competing with strong players, including Erling Haaland.
“But when I arrived here I was speechless, I assure you that we are on another planet. There are 21 pitches and one of them is covered. Then we have two gyms where nothing is missing and also in terms of recovery we have everything, from saunas to swimming pools.”
“It’s true what they say, the Premier League is played at a different intensity. Here everyone is used to ‘always going at 3000’ and there is a very high athletic level, but it’s not just that. The technical level is also incredible.”
“Every game I face very strong players, like Haaland, who I can’t wait to mark, and I can never allow myself to let my guard down,” he noted.
Okoli mentioned the quality of teams in the premier league, highlighting Arsenal as the strongest opponent he faced since joining the league.
The team that has impressed me the most so far, however, has been Arsenal. We played at the Emirates and it was really tough because they have this ‘oppressive’ style of play.”
