Kevin Martins, the son of former Super Eagles forward, Obafemi Martins is included in Monza’s squad to face Udinese on Monday night at the Stadio Brianteo.
The 19-year-old has been a revelation for Monza this campaign, impressing in the Primavera 1. Martins has tormented defense with his pace and skills, featuring in seven games and providing two assists.
Martins has also showcased his display with the first team this campaign. He made his Serie A debut against Napoli and also featured twice in the Copa Italia, providing one assist.
Ahead of the game against Udinese, the young forward has been included in the first team due to injuries to several senior players. Coach Nesta called twenty-five players for the clash and would miss Petagna, Vignato, Pessina, Gagliardini, and Cragno.
Similarly, Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will miss the clash due to a wrist injury. Udinese confirmed the 25-year-old will undergo surgery due to the injury and would miss the game at the Stadio Brianteo.
Monza has been struggling for form, sitting nineteenth in the Serie A with ten points. However, Udinese are tenth on the log with seventeen points.
