Black Galaxies head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has unveiled a 26-man roster for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.
The squad features notable defenders such as Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Nurudeen Abdulai (Medeama SC), Kusi Asante (Vision FC), Isaac Afful (FC Samartex 1996), and Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC).
In the midfield, the team includes Emmanuel Antwi (Asante Kotoko), Manuel Mantey (Medeama SC), and Ibrahim Hafiz (Attram de Visser), while the forward line comprises Charwatey Faisal (Nations FC), Jerry Afriyie (Thoughts FC), Issah Yakubu (Basake Holy Stars), and Albert Amoah (Asante Kotoko SC).
The Black Galaxies are set to compete against Nigeria’s Super Eagles B in the first leg of the CHAN qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 16:00 GMT (4 pm local time). The second leg will be held in Nigeria on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
In preparation for these matches, the Black Galaxies recently achieved a 1-0 win over Togo in a friendly encounter. The CHAN tournament, scheduled for 2025 in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, will see Ghana and Nigeria face off for the second consecutive time in this competition, following Ghana’s penalty shootout victory two years ago that secured their place in the last edition.
