Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has demanded better performance from the team after the tough 3-2 victory over Empoli at the Gewiss Stadium.
Lookman scored the second goal for Atalanta to ensure they had into the break with a 2-1 lead after Lorenzo Colombo gave Empoli the lead and Charles De Ketelaere restored parity for the host.
The Belgian midfielder eventually scored the winner after Samuele Esposito had equalized for Empoli earlier in the second half via a penalty kick.
With the victory, Atalanta remained top of the Serie A tables going into the Christmas break. The team will now face Lazio in the next league game on Saturday, December 28.
In a post-match conference after the game, Lookman charged his teammates to improve their performance ahead of the clash against Lazio.
We can certainly improve further, now we are thinking about the match against Lazio, it will be another difficult match and we want to win again. We need to grow in every aspect and continue to win”.
The Super Eagles forward has been a top performer for Atalanta since the start of the campaign. Lookman has scored twelve goals and provided five assists in 20 matches across all competitions.
