Ex-Super Eagles Defender Yobo Urges Victor Osimhen to Join Manchester United

Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has advised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to prioritize a move to Manchester United, as top European clubs circle for his signature.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, has reaffirmed his commitment to seeing out his loan deal despite concrete interest from several elite European teams.

The forward remains focused on helping Galatasaray secure a third consecutive Turkish Süper Lig title before considering a permanent transfer in the summer.

Speaking on Osimhen’s future, Yobo strongly endorsed a switch to Manchester United, emphasizing the club’s global stature and the potential for success in England.

“Victor and Manchester United would be a perfect fit and if they sign him there is no doubt he will be successful,” Yobo stated.

Despite the club’s ongoing transitional phase, Yobo highlighted United’s enduring reputation as a football powerhouse.

“Despite the difficult transition period, Manchester United are still among the top three clubs in the world and that will not change anytime soon,” the former Everton defender added.

Yobo further encouraged Osimhen to reconsider a United offer after previously rejecting the move, citing the club’s long-term project under rising managerial talents.

“Amorim, one of the best of his generation, has exciting projects… If Amorim wants to trust Victor to be one of the leaders of this transitional project, then yes, I think he should not think twice and accept the offer,” Yobo concluded.
