Ex-Turkish defender Yağcıoğlu evaluates Galatasaray striker’s Impact at the club

Former Fenerbahçe defender İlker Yağcıoğlu has expressed admiration for Victor Osimhen’s outstanding performances since his loan move to Galatasaray last summer.

Osimhen, who has been in sensational form for the Turkish giants, has scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 17 appearances across all competitions, quickly becoming a key player for the team.

His performances have earned widespread praise, including from Yağcıoğlu, who lauded the striker’s contribution to Galatasaray’s success.

Speaking on the Yeni Açık YouTube channel, as reported by habersarikirmizi, Yağcıoğlu shared his thoughts on the Nigerian forward, emphasizing that Osimhen’s impact goes beyond just his goal-scoring ability.

“Victor Osimhen’s contribution to Galatasaray is very high. Don’t evaluate Osimhen only as a goal. Look at Osimhen doing somersaults on the ground after Barış Alper Yılmaz’s goal. He celebrates like a child. I am really surprised how he felt such a sense of belonging in such a short time,” Yağcıoğlu remarked.

The former defender noted Osimhen’s quick integration into the squad and his connection with the fans, despite the fact that the striker is on loan and may not stay at the club long-term.

“It is really strange but it is a good thing for Galatasaray. He has also established a bond with his fans. This guy is on loan, maybe he will go to another team next year but he likes it here,” Yağcıoğlu added.

Osimhen’s performances have helped galvanize the team, and his enthusiasm on and off the pitch has made a significant impression on both his teammates and the fans.

Although his future beyond this season remains uncertain, Osimhen’s time at Galatasaray is shaping up to be one of great success.
