Iheanacho edging closer to Sevilla exit

Kelechi Iheanacho is on the verge of departing Sevilla FC after a brief tenure of less than six months, as he has failed to meet the expectations set by his transfer.

Initially brought in to bolster Sevilla’s attacking lineup, his performances have not lived up to the anticipated standards. With limited opportunities to start and ongoing scrutiny regarding his form, clubs such as Sheffield United in the Championship have expressed interest in acquiring a player with experience in European competitions.

Having transitioned to Sevilla from Leicester City with significant expectations, Iheanacho has found it challenging to integrate into Francisco Javier García Pimienta’s tactical framework. His underwhelming contributions have also piqued the interest of teams like Panathinaikos, Leeds and Watford, who view him as a potential asset to enhance their offensive capabilities.

The chances of his exit during the winter transfer window are increasing, especially following Sevilla’s recent acquisition of fellow countryman Akor Adams.
