Super Eagles manager has been handed a huge boost following the revelation that Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, the Lazio midfielder, would only miss two games following the injury sustained against Venezia.
Dele-Bashiru, who has struggled to adapt to Italy, suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the contest and was replaced by Reda Belahyane, the Moroccan forward.
The Nigerian midfielder has scored just three league goals in 16 appearances. Despite the struggle in the league, Dele-Bashiru has impressed in the UEFA Europa League, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Dele-Bashiru started the game from the campaign but had to be substituted in the 40th minute. The situation was a huge concern for Eric Chelle, who hoped to have the Nigerian midfielder available for the game against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Nigerian midfielder is expected to miss just two games within a week of action. Dele-Bashiru would miss the clash against Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia, and the league encounter against AC Milan.
With this news, Eric Chelle would be excited to have the option of Dele-Bashiru to prosecute the games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification.
