The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has announced it has moved the first instalment of the friendly between the Super Falcons and Algeria’s senior women’s national team from the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, to the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
Announcing the change through a statement from the communications department of the body, the NFF hinted that kick off remains 4pm on Saturday, 26th October, 2024.However, the second leg slated for Tuesday, October 29 will hold at its original venue, the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos Island.
Head coach of the Super Falcons, Justin Madugu, who guided the nine- time African champions to Women’s Africa Cup of Nations’ qualification last year, has called up 19 home-based stars for the game with only six foreign-based players, including captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, African best goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Oluwatosin Demehin, Chidinma Okeke, Gift Monday and Esther Onyenezide for both games.
Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL stars like Edo Queens goalkeeper Monle Oyono and Nasarawa Amazons goalkeeper Rachael Unachukwu, Chioma Olise, Goodness Osigwe, Folashade Ijamilusi, Amarachi Odoma, Comfort Folorunsho of Edo Queens, Mercy Omokwo of Bayelsa Queens, Josephine Matthias of Nasarawa Amazons among others have the chance to make a mark in the upcoming doubleheader.
The Super Falcons will use both games as part of preparations for next year’s WAFCON set for Morocco between July 5 and 26.
