Wolves dust Chelsea, Palace for highly rated Nigerian born defender

Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed promising central defender Elvis Elendu from Cambridge United, Futbalgalore.com.ng reports.

The 14-year-old joins Wolves on a four-year deal and will continue his development with the club’s U15 squad.

A Nigerian born teen, Elendu is a graduate of Enfield Borough Football Club.

There was interest from Crystal Palace and Late interest from Chelsea

The ball playing defender was scouted by Stephen Ogunrinde, Chris Scudder and Tony Tinkler in the Southern region of England.

He impressed for Cambridge United against Charlton Athletic and netted a powerful header – a testament of his ability. This convinced Wolves to snap him up.

There were late moves from Chelsea and Crystal Palace to hijack the move but Elendu’s family decided that Wolves was the best for the development of the highly rated lad.
