Galatasaray Establishes €50m Cap for Osimhen Transfer to Outmaneuver Chelsea

As reported by the Turkish outlet Sozcu, Galatasaray has set a maximum budget of €50 million to acquire Victor Osimhen in January, despite the Nigerian forward having a €75 million release clause.

Currently, Osimhen is on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, and the Turkish club does not possess an option to secure his permanent transfer.

The striker’s release clause was adjusted to €75 million following his temporary move to Galatasaray in September.

However, according to Sozcu, the club is unable to meet this amount to sign the Napoli player outright.

The report indicates that club officials can allocate €50 million through sponsorship support.

The objective is to secure Osimhen during the January transfer window to outpace competitors like Chelsea.

Chelsea had engaged in discussions with both Osimhen and Napoli in August but were unable to finalize the transfer, leading to Osimhen’s loan to Galatasaray after the summer transfer window closed for major European leagues and the Saudi Pro League.

Osimhen has recently confirmed that he intends to remain with Galatasaray until the season concludes.

Italian reports suggest that Osimhen’s release clause for the January transfer window is set at €90 million, although Galatasaray may be able to acquire him for a lesser amount.
