As Manchester United embarked on a new chapter under the guidance of Ruben Amorim, former striker Louis Saha has urged the club to make a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, rather than pursuing Viktor Gyokeres, who has been heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
Saha, speaking to BoyleSports, pointed to Osimhen’s superior stats and impact on the pitch as key reasons why he should be the top target for the Red Devils in their rebuilding process.
“If you look at the stats, Man United should go after Victor Osimhen over Viktor Gyokeres, it’s as simple as that,” Saha said, emphasizing the Nigerian striker’s impressive goal-scoring record and overall contributions.
Napoli have indicated that several top clubs are now prepared to meet their valuation of Osimhen, following a summer in which his release clause of 130 million euros was not met by any suitor.
However, reports suggest that after a successful loan spell at Galatasaray, the 25-year-old forward could now be available for a significantly reduced fee of around 75 million euros, making him a more financially viable option for clubs like Manchester United.
With United’s attack in need of a spark, securing a proven goal-scorer like Osimhen could be a pivotal move for Amorim’s vision to bring success back to the iconic club.
