‘Since Manchester City lost in recent weeks’ – Galatasaray coach Buruk Explains Why Osimhen is Better Than Haaland

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has stirred debate by naming Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the best forward in Europe, surpassing Manchester City’s goal machine Erling Haaland.

Speaking in an interview with Assist Analiz, Buruk praised Osimhen’s recent performances for both club and country, placing him above Haaland, who has been a dominant force in European football.

“There are not many elite strikers in Europe,” Buruk said. “Haaland may come to mind first, but since Manchester City have lost in recent weeks, I would say Osimhen is the best right now.”

While Haaland has tallied 15 goals in 16 appearances this season for Manchester City, Osimhen has recorded an impressive eight goals in nine games, showcasing his efficiency and impact on the pitch.

The 25-year-old Nigerian, currently in sensational form for Galatasaray, has dazzled in the Turkish Süper Lig with his clinical finishing, earning recognition as one of Europe’s most sought-after talents.

Buruk’s assessment highlights Osimhen’s growing influence, especially given Manchester City’s recent struggles. Though Haaland remains a prolific scorer, Buruk emphasized Osimhen’s overall contributions and decisive performances as key differentiators.
