Atalanta achieved their seventh consecutive victory in Serie A, defeating Parma 3-1 with goals from Mateo Retegui, Ederson, and Ademola Lookman.
The scoring began in under four minutes when Capocannoniere Mateo Retegui found the net, effortlessly guiding Raoul Bellanova’s cross from the right without needing to leap.
Ange-Yoan Bonny nearly equalized, curling a shot just wide, while Lookman had a goal disallowed in the eighth minute for offside after a back-heel assist from Mario Pasalic.
Lookman also narrowly missed with a header from another Bellanova cross, but Atalanta extended their lead when Matteo Ruggeri delivered a low ball across the goal for Ederson to tap in at the back post.
Zion Suzuki made a challenging save on Lookman’s individual effort shortly after, then reacted swiftly to deflect Ruggeri’s angled shot past the far post.
Parma found their footing after halftime, with Cancellieri turning between Rafael Toloi and Isak Hien to unleash a powerful left-footed shot into the top of the net.
Ballon d’Or nominee Lookman thought he had scored again in the 72nd minute, but was ruled offside following Ederson’s back-heel flick. However, he later found the net by converting Juan Cuadrado’s cross from close range.
