‘The Money is Too Much’ – Ex-Göztepe Coach Urges Galatasaray to Rethink €75M Osimhen Deal

Former Göztepe head coach Yilmaz Vural has advised Galatasaray to reconsider plans for a permanent move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, citing the high financial implications of such a deal.

Osimhen, on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli since September, has been in sensational form, scoring eight goals in his first ten appearances under Okan Buruk.

His performances have ignited speculation about a permanent transfer, which could cost the Turkish champions up to €75 million—his reported buyout clause.

Despite the mounting rumours, Osimhen has remained tight-lipped about his future, focusing instead on helping Galatasaray succeed this season.

Speaking on the Telegol program, as reported by Haber Sari Kirmizi, Vural praised Osimhen’s abilities but questioned the financial wisdom of the deal.

“Victor Osimhen is a magnificent footballer. He can pass people with his dribble, he has incredible control over aerial balls. He is a real centre forward and his technical and physical characteristics are very good,” Vural stated.

“However, 75 million Euros is really too much. Our big teams like Galatasaray should acquire names like Barış Alper Yılmaz and Kerem Aktürkoğlu from the lower leagues,” he added.

Osimhen’s performances have drawn interest from several European clubs willing to meet Napoli’s hefty valuation, adding further pressure on Galatasaray to decide on the investment.

While Osimhen’s current impact has made him a fan favorite, the financial considerations and competition from other clubs will likely shape Galatasaray’s final decision when his loan spell concludes.
