Fenerbahçe are reportedly on the verge of making an official announcement regarding the contract situation of Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel, who is currently tied to the Istanbul club until June 2025.
Osayi-Samuel has expressed a desire to return to England, citing personal reasons as his fiancée resides and works there. Speculation about his future intensified recently, with reports linking the versatile defender to Premier League clubs Fulham and Brentford. Sources suggest that Fulham may have already agreed to terms with the player, while Brentford remains keen on securing his signature.
However, according to Takvim, Fenerbahçe sports director Mario Branco has held discussions with Osayi-Samuel’s agent, who also happens to be his older brother. The negotiations reportedly resulted in an agreement for a new two-year contract with an option for an additional year.
The improved deal is said to include a lucrative signing-on fee of over €1 million, underscoring Fenerbahçe’s determination to retain the Nigerian star amidst growing interest from England.
