Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has summoned 30 players to training camp as the Nigeria Football Federation reaffirms its dedication to securing the Super Eagles B’s qualification for the upcoming African Nations Championship finals.
The 8th edition of this continental tournament, exclusively for players engaged with clubs in their home leagues and holding standard contracts, is set to take place throughout February 2025 in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Among the selected players is the seasoned midfielder Rabiu Ali from Kano Pillars, who has netted eight goals this season. He is joined by Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Rivers United defender Steven Mayo, and the dynamic forward Sunday Megwo from Abia Warriors.
Additional call-ups include Enyimba FC goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena, wing-back Ismail Sadiq from Remo Stars, midfield standout Kazeem Ogunleye of Enugu Rangers, and Anas Yusuf, a forward from Nasarawa United.
Also included are Nasarawa United defender Victor Collins, who was previously called for the 2025 AFCON qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda, and Plateau United’s Adamu Abubakar.
All selected players are expected to report to the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, for training in preparation for the first leg of the qualification match against Ghana’s Black Stars B, scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22. The return leg will be held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, December 28.
